I hang my head in despair then start laughing at how the Reps gave Reid a chance to hang on in the Senate. Didn't think that would be possible, and I was looking forward to his departure.

I was just thinking in the shower what Majority Leader McConnell would do when he has DeMint leading a 6-8 seat TP caucus demanding to have their way on everything.

They are really riding a dangerous tiger. These people don't want the government to function, very dangerous for incumbents.

To understand the Tea Party you really have to read the "the Starfish and the Spider", Great book. Not about the Tea Party, but explains their organizational effectiveness.

<<< To me, the Noonan article was valuable simply in explaining why they are appealing to the electorate the way they are.>>>

But does she only think that way because she thinks the microphone is on?

I sort of remembering her thinking process when she thinks no one is listening:

"When Chuck Todd asked her if this was the most qualified woman the Republicans could nominate, Noonan responded, "The most qualified? No. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullshit about narratives. Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and that's not what they're good at, they blow it."

Murphy characterized the choices as "cynical" and "gimmicky."
