Pretty well the norm imho. I believe it is up to parents to do financial education. Problem is that many parents really have no knowledge of finances to pass on.

If she isn't already, ( it took my oldest getting out on her own to open her eyes ) she will be so thankful to have a parent such as yourself. You have given her such a great start in that she will start out without college debt. Now you are guiding her with finances. I firmly believe that this perpetuates itself. She will be better prepared to help her own kids with college, teach them about finances, etc...etc.

Have her open a ROTH IRA and fund it ..
It's the best vehicle for holding a long term
dividend growth portfolio ..
