<For instance, do you think a thermostat is "intelligent"?? >

Bacteria can "evolve" to live in a variety of environments, temperature wise, but also salinity and endless other ways. I don't know how anyone would define it other than intelligent... but maybe some would, I dunno, but I certainly would disagree. You can watch choices being made under a microscope all day long as bacteria or your own cells chase other bacteria around. I have no idea how anyone could NOT call it intelligent... but fire away!

<Can the molecules of water "choose" not to move faster when struck by solar radiation?>

Not that I know of... I think they do it EVERY TIME. BActeria stop chasing and start eating when they catch their pray. :)

All that "artificial" stuff is lightyears behind your liver cell... they HAVE to do certain things... cells don't. Check out what your liver cells were doing during developement in the womb... pretty interesting stuff.

All that said, we both understand that I'm not claiming cells "think" or "talk" like humans right? Of course their conciousness is limited compared to ours.
