If you actually follow the news on the case, including a lot of what comes out of Israel itself, you see that the reason he was charged with rape was that the woman claimed it as such in the first place. Then the defence found evidence to the contrary and she changed her story into rape by deception. There was no real rape because, among other things, the woman agrees that there was no real rape. All that said, anywhere else in the world that a junky prostitute would go claiming a father or two with no criminal conviction has raped, especially one who had previously brough charges of rape against 14 other people and in some of them had been shown to be a liar, would not even be given the time of the day. But in Israel, because she is a Jew and the man is an Arab, he gets charged right away. gets to be put under hourse arrest for two years, and then gets sent to prison for another year and half because he merely implied that he could have been a jew...all this in a country where a lesbian who had tricked hetrosexual women into foreplay merely got a 6 month suspended sentence. Which is to say in Israel the law gets used selectively to drive a racist agenda...the case is so blatant that many decent Jews in Israel are speaking against it. ST
