When money flows like water.....adjustments in the intrinsic values of cash are sure to follow.

Silver is not making new highs by accident.

You have your SS, your state pension and your wife has SS and a civil service pension as well. On top of that you have your small earnings from your law office.

That is rather bullet proof, providing the state or the state pension fund doesn't go belly up. The the government will give you approximately 40% of what you receive from the pension system and the federal money will have degraded (inflation) due to over printing making the money you do receive worth quite a bit less.

It is a very good retirement, however, nothing is bullet proof.

You should be most concerned with your state spending and maintaining or improving it's fscal health.

It is not bullet proof if you really are all cash. The dollar devaluation over the last 10 has caused serious damage to your savings which you left unprotected.
