i am in favor of shutting down all gold mines, and i have stated so many times in the past on this thread, for environmental reasons, naturally and organically

Look at history.. Being on a gold standard didn't prevent inflation (or deflation).

Each new major discovery merely led governments to take out more credit from Europe's bankers against those future supplies/reserves.

Money, as and medium of exchange, fundamentally is dependent upon HUMAN BEINGS borrowing money and being able to utilize those funds to generate greater returns, or to pay back the loan from wages and earnings.

IOW, the value of money, as an agreed upon rate of exchange, is always dependent upon individuals.
