My wife and I have been married for 25 years and our relationship is rock solid. We have perfect credit. I have half-a-mind to divorce her and give her everything in a divorce settlement, leaving myself penniless.

But on the morning after I sign the divorce papers, before the terms of the divorce have time to filter into the credit system, I would have already arranged to close on three brand new houses in one of the so-called "no recourse" states, with NO money down, and some of their "easy" credit terms.

Then I would max out my credit cards, the ones in my "penniless" name, and fill up my three houses with new wares and furniture.

I would then discard the credit cards and never pay a penny on any of the houses or the credit cards. What can they do? I'm "penniless".

Then, I would lease out two of the new houses and my ex-wife and I would live in our favorite of the three. She would lease out our original house. All of our lease income would be used to covertly buy as much gold and silver as possible in Canada, until the banks are finally able to foreclose and repossess everything in the United States. Who knows how long that would take?

I'd be a fool not to do all of that, the same way I've been a fool to play by the rules all of these years.

But, alas, I'm afraid I'm merely fantasizing again! -ng-
