I have sailed up into BC's waters for many, many years. When you look at the massive clear cutting that has gone on in the coastal (range) waters north of Vancouver, BC you would be shocked. You can't see most of that from a highway because highways don't exsist up there! It used to be that way down here and your right.. When I flew my Cessna over the west years ago the clear cuts become really evident.. You won't see most of them from the paved highways, but from the air it was stunning. Fortunately that is not happening anymore in the U.S.
