But first, what about those miners in Chile!?!? pretty spectacular story if you ask me. Those guys were buried down 2200' feet. 10 years ago those guys would have been dead because the technology simply wasn't there to drill a 28" diameter hole down 2200' feet to bring those guys to safety.

This was great news. We can all celebrate getting those guys out of that dangerous situation. But what of over 2000 miners dying every year just in China?

Sorry, just a little diversion...we were talking about the technological and cost challenges of extracting oil in deep water. 100 years ago extracting oil in water of any depth would have been too expensive and technologically impossible. But like the advances in PV technology, there are advances in exploration and drilling technologies. So i would suggest that you again have no idea what you are talking about.

Oh and you are an expert in geology? What does it cost now to drill a well in deep water vs on land?

It's a numbers game Jorj.. Those costs have been exploding in the last 50 years. Are you going to get every drop? We now have to drill in deep water because we are running out on land. Is oil going to last forever?

The clock is ticking..

$20 per gallon? Are those obama inflated dollars? Cuz I think we will have a lot of those in the next two years.

Yeah we gotta love how Repubs have put this country in jeopardy... They used to be fiscally conservative many years ago but that sure went out the window during the Bush years.

Thanks for the lousy economy and massive debts that were baked into your cake during those years. Gotta love zero job creation during those eight, lousy years!

It will go down in history as the "lost decade".
