This was great news. We can all celebrate getting those guys out of that dangerous situation. But what of over 2000 miners dying every year just in China?

Actually, the number is closer to 8000 per year...and that is a good year. The problems in China are more cultural and political. Compare their 8000 to our average of less than 50 on a bad year. But tell ya what, I'm doing everything I can to help reduce their numbers.

Oh and you are an expert in geology? What does it cost now to drill a well in deep water vs on land?

I have to be an expert in geology to be aware that technology advances over time. And the cost of drilling on land vs water is a moot argument. Yes it costs more, but the question is, can they sell the oil for more than it cost to recover it. This is simple economics.

Yeah we gotta love how Repubs have put this country in jeopardy... They used to be fiscally conservative many years ago but that sure went out the window during the Bush years.

Thanks for the lousy economy and massive debts that were baked into your cake during those years. Gotta love zero job creation during those eight, lousy years!

The republicans definitely had their part in it. As did the democrats. Far more of a function of 70 years of progressive liberalism infecting our politics and economy. BTW: you know that congress handles the purse strings, right?
