The Arabs fled/abandoned Palestine and then joined forces with the other Arab nations attempting to obliterate the inhabitants of Israel. Their announced stated goal {to the world} was to exterminate and massacre every single man, woman and child. Nope! A bunch of corrupt Arab regimes with no more right to Palestine than the European invaders fought over a loot that belonged to neither. Given all the bloodshed in WWII, the civilian population was rightly afraid of being caught in the middle of another bloody war and fled. There are two fallacies to your argument: the logical fallacy is to use a collective "Arabs fought and lost." As you have pointed out, there is no such thing as a single Arab nation and the Pals were not citizens of any of the waring parties. The moral fallacy in your argument is the implicit "to the victor goes the loot." Not only is the law of jungle not such a good moral basis, in this case it is particularly repugnant because the said loot was not a property of the waring countries. >> 2. When the war was over and the Arabs had been defeated, they made no immediate move to return. They were there illegally.. as I had previously posted to you. Your logic here escapes me. Following this line of reasoning, Hitler was right about the Jews who left Germany? Personally I think those Jews were every bit as German as the rest of the country. >> 3. After 2,000 years of persecution and exile the Jews had returned home with the sole intention of creating Israel and reclaiming their birthright. You have no evidence that the Jews who returned to Israel were the direct descendants of those who left. As I said, there is evidence that European Jews are from Khazaria and not Jerusalem. What is more, even the Palestinian Jews are descendant of migrants from Mesopotamia. So even in their case you are drawing an arbitrary line in history to suite your needs. Finally, any rights they might have had was diluted away over thousands of years. >> Israel exists and thrives to the point of being a major contributor to every nation with her science and technological innovations. Good for them. They are big boys and can fend off for themselves. Why should America be their protector? They are grown up and should sleep in the bed they make. >> Palestinians are being used by Arab leaders All politicians everywhere use whatever suites their needs. As Reagan said, the second oldest profession has much in common with the most oldest profession. Now that I am done answering your points, I'd like to make a few points of my own: 1 - The mythology of Israel about a reawakening of a lost nation and returning after 2000 years is a misrepresentation at best. Most Jews had no desire to be living in Israel but were forced there by the Zionists. 2 - It was not a smart choice. There were better places that could have proved less problematic. 3 - Regardless of where the Jews were to settle in, the smart and moral thing to do was to build an integrated society. The Europeans had much to offer the local people and had they come in peace and with the aim of building a participatory society, they could have been a model for the rest of the world. But instead they chose to imitate the Nazis instead...you would think they'd know better what not to do. 4 - If there is a another holocaust, it will be to a big extent due to Israel's conduct. Furthermore in case of another holocaust, Israel will be the worst thing that can happen to Jews as it will be small concentrated target. Modern weapons see to it that there are no winners; only losers. The problem with your line of thinking is that it can become a self fulfilling prophecy...and I don't like that prophecy. ST
