MH, I didn't mean to suggest that this would be the most profitable segment for Dell. I simply meant that it would be worth going after, i.e, they will make more money by entering this market than by not. They wouldn't neglect other segments. Why make less money if you can make more?

Regarding buyers at the low end, many of them need hand holding. Therefore there may always be a place in the market for middlemen such as Circuit City and CompUSA. But what prevents these establishments in the future from direct order purchases from Dell?
