While I admire their drive to achieve the primary research goal one should not lose sight of the fact that there is also a business goal, part of which is public relations and investor relations. I would tend to think that a well constructed web site, while perhaps initially costly, could enhance the public's perception of VICL. If a web presence only enhanced awareness to the point that VICL traded on average 1/4 point higher than without that would mean that the return on the site would be about 3.5 million to the company and its shareholders.

Do you think this is an unreasonable assessment?

Jim

As a shareholder, I too have been annoyed that Vical has no web site. If the company were interested, I could develop a relatively inexpensive web site which would act as a new medium for Vical to distribute information. With so many other companies going On-Line, you would think that Vical would realize how big the internet is becoming.
