Diger....Funny you should mention this as I was thinking about this very same thing last week. I'll take a stab at what I think. Last Winter/Spring alot of people were in junior plays (Specs.) thru their Margin Accts. These margin accts. were backed by stocks like Bre-X, Bema, Bresea, AT & T, Ford, Freeport, etc., etc.

When Bre-X went down alot of the margins got called in and this caused a domino effect. These people were forced to sell WSP to cover on Bre-X. Hey everyone thought Bre-X was a true blue play. When they went down their was mass carnage in the streets and all of a sudden a junior spec. bear market was formed. IMHO I think that alot of the selloffs already happened (by way of a call in margin). I think that Dec. selloffs will be marginally less than in previous years. Look at how the houses are positioning themselves now on WSP as compared to a normal Tax/Loss selloff year. The houses never lose.
