Bad news for SUN/JAVA: (Warning: Very long article!!!)

Gee, what a non-biased article. They interviewed a bunch of Dilbert bosses. Surprize, Surprize.

Try interviewing a real expert who knows SOMETHING ABOUT SOFTWARE.
You humans a amazing. You all are worse than vacuum cleaners sucking up crap.

PS - The only thing I'll agree is that the awt component renders windows differently.
THE CODE RUNS!
I have no problem with speed. I do have problem with network speed and database access.

Ibexx,

Wow! Thanks for the article. I new JAVA had problems especially with VM and the alleged write once run anywhere paradigm but this article brings home in no uncertain terms just how dismal things are for SUNW with regard to JAVA.

I remember reading an article in August I believe that reported how many programmers who initially started using JAVA were dropping it and moving to the MSFT platform. I guess things continue to go downhill. At least MSFT is working to provide a consistent interface with tools and language extension for JAVA. I'm sure that MSFT will emerge as the saviour of JAVA and lead the way in developing JAVA into a great programming language.

Regards,
Brian

Ibexx and Brian Re: Market Decisions Corporation Press Release and Survey.

I'd be interested in knowing who paid for the survey and more information about methodology (sampling of developers, etc.) before making too much of this. Let me know if you have another link or more information.

As always, I appreciate your posts and commets.

Ibexx: Market Decisions Corporation Press Release/Research

Forgive me for staying with this, but I don't know who paid for the research, how the sample of developers was determined, what questions were asked or when.

I do know that if you visit the website for Market Decisions Corp. you will see Microsoft listed as one of many clients. Just thought this might provide a little background/perspective to the research. Please tell me if I'm being too paranoid.
