You know if she exhibited knowledge of history or literature. If she was rational. If she was intelligent instead of shrewd and calculating. If she had not been reared to be a cheer leader and consummate politician she would be great. Could be that the challenge we now face is to understand why the values and qualities we assumed were integral to an elected leader are no longer relevant. Palin is not even as rabid as some of the clowns who will no doubt be elected today. Given the pathetic pleading for last minute funds that I saw from Democrats, I think the lesson is that it makes no difference what a candidate believes or says, the election will be decided by massive infusions of cash and campaigns orchestrated by soulless marketing professionals who see selling incompetent pols as ethical as creating a dog food commercial. This is a situation that I see no return from, as it has been legislated from the Supreme Court bench and there is obviously no political will to fix it. It is probably the death knell for our country as we knew it and will certainly facilitate our continued slide into a fascist state.
