I love it!!!

<<"No other company has our depth of experience with Fibre Channel
technology, and with customers looking to deploy the technology," Hendrickson added. "We believe this combination gives customers a
clear choice for reliable, high-performance Fibre Channel solutions
that work today.">>

ALan A. Now this is a nice release. Very strong in its prose on ANCR
strengths. They sound increasingly confident that they have something that no other vendor has. Maybe they found a big chink in Brocade's technology and are working to expliot it? The number of other vendors that will display the interoperability is substanial and should get a lot of visitors to drop in and see it for themselves. I wish I could go. Anyone able to give us a first hand report on this demonstration?

<<<<-- First Fibre Channel switch to include SNMP and web-based network management;
-- Simplicity of design and lowest parts count of any Fibre Channel switch resulting in the industry's highest Mean Time Between Failure value for a 16 port switch;
-- First and only with self-discovering, end user-configurable ports including port type (eg: F, FL, E, G ports);>>>>

What I like about this news release is that it is like the BMW owner is telling the Yugo owner, hey look, cruise control is standard, plus anti-lock brake, easy driving, chassis protection, etc, etc. Brocade has been touting about network management and self-discovering configuration and Ancor has just cleared that up. I also like the breadth of companies that are involved. Take that, Broke-Aid.

>>>TheComdex demos reinforce Ancor's leadership in cross-vendor
interoperability,featuring IP and SCSI traffic over a common Fibre Channel fabric and illustrating the power and flexibility of Fibre Channel to accommodate multiple traffic types over a common interconnect.<<<
George-Given the flexibility that FC has, will this be a competitive advantage over GE? How flexible is GE?Given that FC is becoming the standard in the SAN how long will it take before end users get a taste of all the possibilities of FC in different parts of the network.
Given the ammount of money large networkers have invested in GE their may be some major resistance to FC. looking for an FC Tidal Wave in the next few years.

Now *that's* a news release... did they hire Brenda and I missed it?
With such a high-profile approach, next year is going to be very interesting!
