Any possibility that the missile came from a Chinese or Russian sub? I don't know why the US military would not claim credit for a very visible ocean missile launch so close to a major city (LA).

Must be the Waddell & Reed trader from Kansas City accidentally pushing the launch button in error.

That is very strange. But not likely a "US show of might", inasmuch as the US launches missiles all the time and publicly. No one would be impressed by just another US missile launch.

Foreign sub?
