In the case of Winspear, a majority of the shareholders can be assumed to be Canadians. The insiders, brokerages, funds, and invidual shareholders pay Canadian tax. In Canada, tax losses from the current years can be applied to accumulated gains from previous years. With this said, in the case of Winspear, I believe the tax selling is over. Sudhir Khanna, P.Eng.
