I think Elmer's getting worried. The postings from him and his ilk are getting hysterical.

Intel is having to go to SOI to avoid a brick wall they've run into. Elmer has repeatedly posted that it would take many years for AMD to first learn, then re-design all of its VHDL libraries of components and configurations to reflect the different manufacturing and fabrication optimizations needed when switching between these pardigms.

The reverse is also true.

Elmer appears to be convinced that Intel is screwed.

That's right Elmer... When you can't attack the argument, attack the man.

I didn't know we were arguing. What are we arguing about?

How are those first-dollar rebates going? Or should I "go fly a kite?"

The reason you were told to do that was because you instructed someone to go do your reference work for you.

As for first dollar rebates, why do you ask? Didn't you get one?

Mr Guru,

Re: "... Or should I "go fly a kite?"

Why don't you just study process development/engineering. A good start would
be to read Tauber and Wolf, "Silicon Processing for the VLSI Era" Volumes 1 -> 4

Then maybe, you could start to understand the technical issues.
