The issue was not between liberals and conservatives. It was between liberals and religious. I have given examples during this discussion.

So many of our laws that prohibit our liberties as you call them are fostered by religious zeal..

Abortion, gay marriage, gays serving in the military.

AND the gun laws are all controlled by the NRA and funds.

Now, I am not against guns as I took the course in firearms
and own a Smith and Wesson 38. I belong to the NRA but
I am against the huge firearms that are being disseminated today.

THE Aryan Nation and other hate groups are an off shoot
of religious Zealots..

Religion to me enters into every area of our society and
even the way the gay marriage proposition was defeated in Ca. was due to Morman funds coming into California to help defeat it.

The way we interact with the laws for the most part comes from a religious foundation... or thinking.

Liberals want to put you in jail if you perform abortions.

Oh, wait; those are the conservatives, too.

Is it liberals or conservatives who want to even decriminalize pot?

That is an interesting question.
Is a libertarian a liberal or a conservative? I suspect that many people that the left label as "conservative" are actually more libertarian. A libertarian would support less restrictive drug laws.

Is it liberals or conservatives who want to even decriminalize pot?

Pretty much anybody with their head out of their rectal sphincter probably.

Since pot use is less damaging physically than alcohol or smoking tobacco, it takes a special sort of luddite to think it should stay criminalized, with the attendant crime, violence and foregone revenue associated with its criminal distribution.
