"And who wants to regulate what you eat, what you say and what you think."

The examples that I used as I recall, because I can't find the posts either.

As to eating many cities are restriction many foods. new York and Baltimore restrict trans fats in restaurants. San Francisco has some kind of regulation relating to foods that are sold with a toy. There are other examples, but the trend is clear. You are too stupid to decide what to eat on your own, so big brother government needs to decide for you.

As far as thought. Hate crime legislation is the foot in the door. The government takes the view that somehow it is more wrong to kill someone based on racial hatred, than it is to just choose to kill someone at random. This amounts to punishment for what you think. We are already seeing the selective enforcement of these laws. All one needs do is look to Canada and Europe for where this leads.

As far as what we say, the best example I used was McCain Feingold which the supreme court found to be an unconstitutional limitation on free speech.
