If I am not mistaken, the DTC charges a fairly expensive fee to
tell the company how many shares are in street vs name. I dont
think that it is just a matter of a simple phone call.

The financials are pending the final news on the merger. It is stated in the 8K that they will be late because of the merger.
DTC does not now what's in NAME form. The TA has that information. The DTC has an accounting of all long and short shares in STREET (Brokerage) form.
