Bill; I did not know this was part of a tit for tat dulel. In any event Dell should not have said that, it is crass, and Jobs should not be baited into that kind of response, it is dumb dumb dumb.

RE: "Now Jobs has the same team of experts designing Apple's online sales site and improving on what they did for Dell."

The point is not what technology or which technicians are building the site. If you wanted a house, you'd get an architect to design it. But you, the boss, get to say how big, what it will look like, who's welcome and who's not. Similarly, it's Jobs and his marketing people who decide what products are sold, how they are sold and to whom. Right now, I'm pissed off at the fact that the online store is very limited in scope: adding a monitor or additional battery is NOT my idea of "building" a machine, and selling to US purchasers only is NOT my idea of increasing customer base.

Sorry for venting, but I'm truly disappointed with the site. I was about ready to shell out $6K for the G3 until I read the part about US customers only.

As far as I'm concerned, Apple need not improve on what the NeXT team did for Dell. I'd be happy just to see a site that was as broad in scope as Dell's. Right now, it's no where near that. Talk about parochial. And that from a company that asks us to "Think Different". Sheesh!
