I believe Apple is on the right track to sell directly thru Internet,
as well as from retailers, in which Apple could reduce inventory
and increase forecast accuracy. The problem of inventory and
specified chips shortage is lingering aroung for several years.
Hopefully, it will be minimized thru these efforts.

Another thing I think Jobs is right about is he emphasized on
PowerPC chips and relationship with IBM and Motorola. It is clear
that hardware sales are always a cash cow for Apple, and it is wise
to double-ensure stronghold in AIM memberships. With about 7.0
billion of revenue, it should be easy to turn back to profits as
long as Jobs has such intention of squeezing fat within the
company. The similar examples could be found in other companies
such as, IBM, DEC, or Segeat, etc.

Greg: What about start of cost of the new line of computers? How about the expected slow chistmass sales? Most companies will not have the budgets to do any upgrading till after the new year, and that puts off earnings release from those sales till about June of 98.

I hope APPLE Can turn it around, just do not see it right now. Or at least not in the near term.
