Typhoon,

Pardon an old Definition -0 (a ones complement former Definition 0).

I've heard the mantra of one-language does everything for everybody for 30 some years. It's a 'silver bullet' to slay the werewolf of programming complexity (silver bullet is not original, it was coined by the gentleman who wrote The Mythic Man Month and OS/360, I believe one each Dr. Frederick Brooks, in an IEEE Computer magazine in the late 80s). So far Java is a nice TOY. And people are having lots of fun PLAYING on the intERnet. If and when Java makes it as part of an NC on a intRAnet, that will be the real test. We will just have to wait and see how the IBM ramp on the NC takes I hearing it is costing more and taking longer then expected. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Regards,

Rich
