before the movement began, i believed in small constitutional government and fiscal conservatism. i still believe in those things. all the people that i know that believed in them before, still believe in them.
You missed few things up there.

still believe in them. so how have we been hijacked?
When the movement started, it was made out of ordinary people that just refuse to take the BS anymore. It was refreshing, it was revolutionary. Then, every GOP candidate that was trailing hanged their hat to the movement's wagon and call it their own. It was really disappointing. When it felt like we were going to have a government of the people, by the people, for the people, we ended up with the same old, same old.

Two party system is not working. They are both control by lobbyists and special interest groups. I had hope for the TEA party movement, alas, I was disappointed. The people that got elected as the TEA party, they have to tow the line of the GOP.
