Jack,

I don't do TA, but I think the buying might have to do with the emergence of Borland as one of the best Java tool companies. With Microsoft getting slammed for their alleged tweaking of Java, there might also be a crowd who feel that the easiest way for Microsoft to demonstrate their respect for standards is to purchase Borland (rather like a backdoor way for Microsoft to stick it to Oracle...). There certainly is a need to get improved Java performance, and, personally, I've been more excited in learning Java than any other language since I got my first PC.

Borland's other tools are gaining acceptance, but I think it's the JBuilder product that's going to be viewed as the start of a major comeback for Borland.

I also like the language wars in this folder. Even with all the goading going on between some of you here, it's obvious to me you all, as a rule, know what you're talking about and are passionate about your opinions.

Regards,
Dave

Hi, Jack:

I guess I'm not far from you in TA area, but to my knowledge we saw some short covering and profit taking today at the same time! My thoughts are that we are at the point where the critical volume of accumulation is reached and BORL is ready to breakout. I think we can expect $12, maybe $12.5 by the end of this week, and very well can reach $13 level by the next Friday.

As you may remember in my "writings":

www4.techstocks.com

I quoted $14-$15 as the next level. In fact I made a mistake - the Fibonacci line is: 1,1, 2, 3, 5...,
Therefore I'm anticipating next major support/resistance level to be met at the area approximately around $13.25-$13.75, and we can be there soon.

Good investing to all.

EK

It was interesting to watch the last 10 minutes of trading. BORL got peppered with sell orders all about 1000 shares in size. I watched in disbelief at the speed at which the bid/ask was lowered all the way to 11 - 11 1/16. BORL traded at 11 3/8 - 11 7/16 most of the day I thought for sure it would hold. Also, I was also suprised at how low the bid price on the Jan 10 calls was set. With BORL at 11 1/2 the bid price on the option was only 1 15/16.
