I would not get too concerned about TPII becoming a major competitor to tpro. Their primary business has been aimed at the mid-range, client/server market (IT). Automated machinery on the factory floor, driven by Embedded Controllers, is a completely differenct application. Very little detail was provided with their annoucement of providing y2k support to another Canadian Company, albeit a very large steel mill. I believe they were in bed with them before and was intimately involved with their systems and automated machinery. This engagement is worth several million dollars? Obviously they are not using tpro's CD :) I wonder how automated their solution really is? The Embedded Controller problem requires vast hardware knowledge as well as software (primarily MicroCode) background. Source Code for these systems & components can be difficult to obtain. Furthermore I am sure that TPII does not have the Factory Floor mapped or contains the enormous (ToolSet) database of systems, components, specifications etc. that tpro has. This is an enormous barrier for any company to enter and pose serious competition. tpro has the client base and the alliances. TPII?
