Shep, > You have any idea how many stars he's found or made??

It's not hard to find singing talent. I can walk into a church or a college campus and find singers that are just as good as any of the American Idol finalists.

Of course, I don't have Simon's reputation, so I can't turn them into superstars. But then again, the pop music industry these days isn't really about talent anymore. It's all about connections. Who knows you or discovers you. Who controls the airwaves, the recording deals, the production, the advertising, etc.

Basically it's a bunch of recording executives saying, "We'll decide what the public wants to hear." And the public just goes along like sheep. That explains half of the crap that passes for pop music these days.
