Re: SFL
- 46% payout ratio
- dividend $1.44/year (6.7% annual yield)
- ex dividend (Dec 6, 2010); quarterly payments (Dec, March, May & Sept)

I wonder if SFL will do the financing for the new SeaDrill Rigs? There was some discussion last year that they would get more long term contracts for deep water drill platform(s).

In September 2008 they did a sales leaseback w/ SeaDrill valued at $1.7 Billion.

The last one was structured for 15 years. These long term leaseback contracts provide excellent cash flow to SFL. There may even be another dividend increase if they ink another deal w/ SeaDrill.

It's all the same Fredrickson family ownership too. The contract(s) are good for SFL as it lengthens their average lease period for their portfolio of assets (now greater than 10 years). They also get a small percentage in profit sharing from each deal signed.

SFL has been my best dividend producer and has provided me excellent capital gains. The stock seems well positioned to head back to $29.00/share where i plan to peel off some shares.

Looks like the Oslo markets were impressed with the company conference call. New SDRL 52 week high, with large volume on the Oslo exchange. I thought a stand out comment was on new build pricing @ 2005 prices. If you're going to leverage up the balance sheet, and have the ability to leverage( and Mr. Fredriksen's savy), now is the time to be doing it, imo. Of course, as mentioned others are doing it as well and a lot of high spec rigs will be hitting the market in a few years.
