If I think about what interest rate on Treasuries would make them a good investment, it's basically infinity.

12% sounds about right, knowing that I'll lose a chunk to taxes.

Except that will blow a hole in the deficit, and therefore lead to further devaluation.

Better make it 15%. Oops, it's worse. How about 20%? Oops, even worse. How about 30%??

This ain't lookin' good.

So I really wonder about the sanity of those purchasing at 3 or 4 percent. Bernanke, sure, I don't wonder about his sanity, but that's just half of it. Who's buying the other half? Oh yeah, the TBTF banks with money they borrow for free at the Fed (the hidden QE to infinity, and beyond!!!).

This is one seriously distorted, completely contorted, dangerously demented ponzi scheme.
