Without elections, governments are all the same.. "We the Elite" versus "We the People".. Hawk the elite does not change... just their stooges.. seems the thrust of dvdw©'s posts were that it is the people only... well if you have a system that allows misdeeds... then the system is broken... betting on altruism is a mug's game If I write a software user interface and it does no data validation.. then that software is a piece of chit... the checks and balances are supposed to mitigate human flaws.. if that does not happen... how good is it... would you buy crappy software ? and if you did... you throw it out... democracy as it stands needs a reworking... it has gotten stale and the bad guys have figured out the weaknesses...
