Inode, so a progressive tax rate fails to tax the truly rich at high effective rates. Therefore, the liberal solution is to make the progressive tax rate even more severe. Call them out on their lunacy, and they'll go ballistic. Tenchusatsu

Then explain the numbers in the IRS data.....ie the most anyone pays on average is about 20% of AGI Mr. Taxman, you've known hundreds.....how did you advise them to reduce their true tax rate.... If you were honest you'd tell us what % of AGI you pay. Didn't your top rate clients receive most of their income from low tax instruments, ie dividends, cap gains, muni's and other deductions...... And then tell me what a ridiculous remark it...
