You've actually gone on record as wanting 90% and 99% tax rates.

They want nothing less than serfdom...

No, serfdom doesn't describe todays economy.

It turned out that Mr. Buffett, with immense income from dividends and capital gains, paid far, far less as a fraction of his income than the secretaries or the clerks or anyone else in his office.

Of course, he's in a position to have nothing but lt cap gains or dividend income i/o a salary.

Further, in conversation it came up that Mr. Buffett doesn’t use any tax planning at all.

LOL Right. His wealth is his number one value. Everything in his life revolves around it. His wife left him and completely humiliated him but he wouldn't divorce her because he'd have to give up part of his fortune.

but for a little over 100K a year, you can rent one

Yes, a person who'd dumb enuf to spend half their income on rent can indeed live in a penthouse. But people who actually make $200K don't live in penthouses. And all I will say is that is firthand info.

WR, do you realize how Buffett avoids paying anywhere close to the top marginal rate? Muni funds and charitable donations.

Eliminate or cap the tax deductions for both, and Buffett will end up paying the same percentage as everyone else.

Or he'll just find other ways to legally dodge taxes, then once again pretend that he would like to pay more.
