BP - so are there any suggestions of option plays that can best capture the bullish sentiment? Buying straight BP calls, selling OTM puts, call spreads....etc? I am learning with interest.

Thanks. I expect BP to be a boring stock, going forward, with no dramatic up or down moves. I expect, within a couple of years, the dividend yield (at my cost basis) will be high enough to make it worthwhile to hold forever. The only reason I can think of, to change my plan, is if we see an oil price spike (like in 2008), and I get worried about a global recession. That might make me go to 100% cash. But that would be a macro decision, not company or sector-specific.

I also want to thank this board, for being liberal enough (using the 19th-Century meaning of that word) to allow a Deep Green Socialist like me to post here.

disclosure: in energy, I am currently long BP, FAN (wind ETF), FSLR and TSL (U.S. and Chinese solar).

P.S. I have followed with interest the extended discussion here, on whether wind towers slow the earth's rotation. My personal belief: the blades act as antenna, receiving messages from a Higher Power (either Lisa Jackson or Elvis), which are subliminally inserted into the thoughts of those who live within their spectral aura field (an area proportional to the square of tower height).
