re: allocation

Your point is well taken. Since we only have transparency in the channel and not the OEM side, we have to figure out what is going on with only half the story. Inasmuch as WDC's channel stuffing and aggressive pricing (note: including the 6.4 drive) is not being matched by QNTM, a reasonable (albeit optimistic) inference is that QNTM is seeing strong OEM demand.

However, I don't recall QNTM saying their drives are on allocation in their latest cc. If SEG has allocation problems, that's symptomatic of their obvious misjudgment of desktop capacity points, not a generalized problem with supply.

Not that it matters. The world is going to end. Cramer said so.
