Straw man. I didn't say they didn't use the word. Do the doctors at St. Jude Hospital have saints? Probably not, excepting the practicing Catholics. Do they use the word saint? Yes. Does that mean anything in context? No. To repeat, I don't think Protestants recognize the Catholic concept of sainthood, one that confers extraordinary status within God's regard. Luther and Calvin, the likely suspects, certainly aren't considered saints.
