Already, he's going in the wrong direction. Bringing in dead beats from the Clinton administration. Clinton as a campaigner-great. Clinton policy-terrible. I still remember NAFTA. He was pushing very hard for it as part of his legacy. It was his gift to the corporations which cemented his post presidency appeal and wealth.

Mr. Obama intends not only to extend a hand to Republicans but also to begin detaching himself more from Congress and spending more time making his case directly to the American people.

Long overdue. Excellent strategy to blunt the Congress and capitalize on his personal popularity which remains very high.

I anticipate Tom Daschle to be his new COS.
