I'll make no predictions about how bad the gridlock will be until I see whether the Dems can change the Senate rules, so that a majority becomes 50+1.
However, gridlck, doing nothing, will screw us too. We need to run faster just to stay where we are.

It seems to me when one is faced with an historical depression one uses their first team not the second string.

Obama used Summers and Geithner.

FDR used John Maynard Keynes to solve the depression problem and Albert Einstein to solve WWII problem.

Both first stringers.

It seems to me just common sense that you use the best minds, not the second best minds.

And why would we believe the second best minds over the best minds i.e. Summers and Geithner over Krugman and Stiglitz, just because a politican says so?

Is that how we would pick our brain surgeon?
