First the world is not objective, it is subjective and relative. Everyone knows that. And we live in a quantum universe that is the antithesis of Objectivism.

And what makes you think I have not read her? I am an older guy now, but I cut my teeth on Ayn Rand. I thought she was smart when I was young (22) and had started my search for understanding.

As I continued to read the greats like George Bernard Shaw, Bertrand Russell, Sartre, Dostoyevsky, Nietzsche, Huxley, Tolstoy and the rest and learned more about Ayn Rand's idea of greed is good and other idea devoid of compassion, I changed my mind about her and now see her as an authoritarian who displayed a sociopathic personality.

She had a cult dude. And a woman jsut wrote a biography of her that was very hard on her. And she had the facts. About egotism, selfserving behavior and hypocrisy.

Great thinkers don't have cults. And you just blew right through that fact and her behavior. Didn't even hesitiate.

YOu don't think her behavior was questionable? she lacked compassion. Liberals don't like her because she was mean and stupid; not becasue we haven't read her.

Try reading more than one book.

<<Well, that did not take long...:)...I fully expected that you would refuse to discuss...simply because that has been my experience with every 'liberal' I have met over the last 30 years...it is this close-minded bigotry that has driven the US, and much of the rest of the world, to the crisis we now face.>>

" In pursuit of Randian orthodoxy, he must denounce leftists, but he goes further and holds that "historically, from the Sherman Act to Herbert Hoover to the Bush Administration, it is the conservatives, not the leftists, who have always been the major destroyers of the United States."-- Leslie Armour, Univ. of Ottawa"

From a review of the book you mention.

I have always thought the name "objectivism" seems to imply a pretense of a total lack of bias. Seeing as though bias is natural to human nature, I don't trust that implication. It comes across the same way as a belief statement of any other true believer, but pretending that it alone is not a belief.
