"Abraham did not sacrifice Isaac." True. He was stayed in the last moment, after demonstrating that he really was going to execute (!) the command.

"Jesus was not killed by his father." Again true ... technically. God stood by while Jesus suffered immensely. It can be argued that the crucifixion was a setup ... that God guided his own kid's path into this mortal agony. As for how willing Jesus was ... I wonder; I really do. Clarke states succinctly that no creature of intelligence resents the inevitable. But in my mind that does not satisfy the condition of volition.

To which every fiber of my human instinct says: What kind of a dad is that!? I do not want to carry a spear under that banner.
