That's a lie, John.

Death to George Bush was a common theme of lefty "rhetoric."

A movie on the assassination of Bush won the Toronto film festival award.

CBS late night show host Craig Kilborn ran a SNIPERS WANTED logo over a photo of Bush.

SHOW ME where a movie on the assassination of Obama was made--or won a film festival "award."

You can't, because you are full of it.

I thought the sheriff in Pima County has done a great job of calling out all the extremist rhetoric and how it does inflame those with a screw or two loose to go over the edge. We should all leave it at that.

Unfortunately, we can't leave it at that. The people who are advocating anarchy and violence won't change unless we demand they change....en masse.

Well said, John. I'm pretty disillusioned by the behavior of thread participants, and will be starting a new RRECI moderated thread later today. Time to pour cold water on all the political nonsense. It's gone well past a simple waste of time (which was bad enough to begin with). The kid who shot all these people in Tucson was nuts (in my opinion) but he was undoubtedly influenced by the tone of the rhetoric around here (Arizona) over the last year. Time for a cooling off period and a new dialog. Hopefully by mature adults this time instead of the Palin's, Beck's and their counterparts on the Left (and yes they are there as well).

Dopenik was appointed sheriff 30 years ago and by now thinks quite highly of himself. Doesn’t even realize he’s a senile old fool.

The hypocrisy of the Left in the face of tragedy

January 9, 2011
constitutionclub.org

The absolute hatred that spewed forth from the Left for eight long years during the Bush administration can’t even be touched by anything the Right has come forth with in the last two. The Left is awash with hypocrisy if they attempt to lecture conservatives on “toning down the rhetoric.” Such silliness would be sad if it wasn’t so devious and underhanded. Liberals threw out polite political discourse many years ago so I guess we were just all stunned to hear them suddenly clamoring for such a thing this morning. What a shock that they suddenly had a Paul-on-the-road-to-Damascus moment.

What they mean to do is stifle dissent from those who don’t endorse moral bankruptcy or big government or political correctness by trying to pin something like this on the Right. And if they can take Sarah Palin out in the process so much the better. They’ve been itching for this moment and even if the facts don’t match their mutterings they have gone ahead and played their hand. They have had their talking points planned far in advance and were merely waiting for an opportunity to launch this salvo at the conservative right.

This incident was little more than opportunistic fodder for a bunch of ideological haters and that is the point that should be made. When the facts don’t support their position they manipulate and spin the facts until they do support them.

Conservative bloggers and commentators today successfully called their bluff. They did not hesitate to point out their idiocy for attempting such a cheap political stunt using the blood of innocents to paint their political opponents as responsible for violence. This day will not be forgotten for many people have shown their true colors by their actions and words today. No more apologies for being conservative, opposing European-style socialism, or opposing amnesty for millions of undocumented Democrats. No more apologies for standing for up for principle and for what is right and true.

I’m just disgusted at those who try to score political points because of what some deranged psychotic did.

To sum it all up, a dope smoking liberal, registered Democrat who voted for Obama in 2008 and most recently voted for Rep. Giffords this past November attempted to assassinate a Democratic congresswoman so it must be the fault of conservatives. Of course, how obvious.

When the Left brings up their lies, remind them of some truths… such as…

Remember Chris Matthews fantasizing on air about seeing Rush Limbaugh shot in the head?

The Craig Kilborn Show superimposing the words “Snipers Wanted” over the face of President George W. Bush.

Nobel “Peace Prize” winner Betty Williams publicly stating her desire to murder President George W. Bush.

British film makers Gabriel Range and Simon Finch making a 2006 movie fantasizing about assassinating President George W. Bush.

Alec Baldwin urging the murder of Henry Hyde, his family, and ALL Congressional Republicans and their families on national television…..

David Guy McKay and Bradley Neil Crowder, two America-hating left-wing terrorists, were arrested by the FBI after conspiring to firebomb Republicans at the 2008 GOP Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The American Media refused to report the story.

NPR commentator and ABC News reporter Nina Totenberg wishes death by AIDS on Senator Jesse Helms and/or his grandchildren.

Julianne Malveaux publicly wishes death on Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

Let us also not forget that El Presidente said these things:
Obama:“They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”

Obama to His Followers:“Get in Their Faces!”

Obama on ACORN Mobs:“I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”

Obama to His Mercenary Army:“Hit Back Twice As Hard”

Obama on the private sector:“We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“

Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”

Obama to lib supporters:“It’s time to Fight for it.”

Obama to Latino supporters:“Punish your enemies.”

Obama to democrats:“I’m itching for a fight.”

How’s that for out of control rhetoric?
