It's true that there is no evidence (that I have seen so far, anyway) proving that he was listening to any particular thing. But I'll stick by my statement. A paranoid state of mind makes people susceptible to incitement, and highly suggestible.

So no, we can't draw a straight line from a statement by any one person and this man's actions. My point was simply that his choice of a person who had been targeted for voting for the ACA makes it look like there might be a connection there.

He is crazy, and there's no way to say with any level of certainty what set him off. Even his own testimony about that would be suspect.

But let's not all get bent out of shape about the left's reaction here. I imagine that if the man had shot John Boehner instead, the right would be blaming Keith Olbermann, et al.
