<<<Maybe today Paul will have more documentation. All I heard from the coverage last night was that police had been brought in 5 times because of the shooter's strange behavior. >>>

I share your concern for finding a solution but the article that Paul posted was something that was written by someone primarily with a political agenda :

"He is politically active supporting conservative causes and serves as a precinct committeeman in the 29th Legislative District for the Pima County Republican party and a State Committeeman for the Arizona GOP."

Regardless - there is a solution.

1. There has to be a way to make it more difficult for the mentally ill to have access to weapons that can hurt themselves and others.

2. We have to stop making excuses for people who clearly are behaving in a way that is harmful to others. In other words, there are political activists on all sides, in one way or another, and sometimes inadvertently act as enablers for their side.

3. Creating a culture to be more respectful would be very helpful.

4. A better educated citizenry can not hurt. Ignorance combined with poor ego development is harmful - a lose, lose situation. Anti intellectualism is a losing proposition.

Sure it is easier said than done. Our ego's get in the way.

The real answers often do not have to be complex.
