They don't make money from people looking at the ads, they make money from your browser loading the ads. So if you use FB, they make money off of you from ads.

In addition, they archive everything you do online and so that can be marketed as well. Every game you enable generally requires that you give that game maker complete access to everything as well, and so it is remarketed that way (I'm sure FB gets a cut of this, too).

Every item you "Like" e.g. a band, a book, or a film, gets into online databases that create a profile of who you are and that is sold and sold and sold again.

FB, just one more place whoring out your personal data. Spokeo, another I've read about. Google, Yahoo, MSM... they are all data whores.
