the new hdtv. I just got a new Gateway delivered in three days
via ups in two large cow boxes. Any cable modem products
will be very hot as time goes on , also. I have just got connected
to Americast & am waiting to access web when available after 1st of the new
year sometime. Fiber optic lines are in & ready to go. T

"Apple booked $500,000 worth of business in 12 hours on the Net with more than 2 million hits."

Given Jobs' and NeXT's history, I would be very skeptical of the $500,000 figure.

Also, bear in mind that the store.apple.com home page
generates over 30 "hits" each time you go to the page! View the HTML source and you'll see.

Assume users went to the home page and maybe two or three more pages... that's easily 200 "hits" per person.

Hmm, divide 2 million by 200 and suddenly Apple's numbers aren't that impressive.

I'm sure DELL is laughing all the way to the bank.
