Not really, but since you mentioned it....

This has a lot in common with the journalistic device that goes:

"There is no evidence that Loughner's violent behavior was caused by Sarah Palin. Yet..." I believe Paul Krugmnan and others wrote articles along these lines just recently. Of course that's different, and people were rightfully indignant.

Not to mention (but I will anyway) that if the plain old regular drugs were legal there wouldn't be this search for substances to circumvent the laws and people might loose interest in frog secretions and pesticide extract and whatnot as being a lot of bother and not really worth the effort. Kind of like how sterno became less popular when one could just go buy a cheap bottle of MD 20/20.
