I don't know, maybe Rick Rule is the younger brother of Charles Rule, antitrust chief in the Reagan administration, apologist for Microsoft before the Senate committee, and currently employed by Microsoft "on unrelated matters".

I liked Dvorak's summary of the Microsoft case. One thing about Microsoft, their positions may not be consistent from day to day or case to case, but the company line du jour gets consistent restatement in all forums. Maybe it's that bedlam3 mailing list that Moody talked about.

Cheers, Dan.

Gerald, the Rick Rule article is now on the news.com "more news around the web", listed at slate.com. It appears Rick is more closely related to Charles Rule than I thought.

Rick Rule is a Washington lawyer and former assistant attorney general in charge of antitrust.

So, I guess it's Charles "Rick" Rule, employed by Microsoft "on other matters". Of course, we'd expect the antitrust chief in the Reagan administration to argue against enforcement of antitrust law, vs. Microsoft or just about anyone else, unless it was some commie union or something.

Cheers, Dan.
