Another point with how the medical industry has set up all their networked business's, they have little interest in managing costs to reduce the patient's costs.

When they know what will be paid for by an insurer they will make sure they load in every service possible. I think most people go for high co premium and low co pay, low deductible coverage. At least from what I see at work this is true.

My wife had her gallbladder out last year, I was on my game looking for a way to see how to reduce an expense. Until it was all over, I realized the highest probability for her symptoms was her gallbladder, but no doubt they did a full series of tests over several days to prove it. Only one of the tests was necessary. We should have asked the doctor in the beginning if we could limit tests, doing them in series with his reviews. No he wanted all the tests completed so he could review them with you in his office.

Then you have corrupt states like Illinois where unions and the medical industry have a great business in workmens comp claims. There is a physical therapy office just about every strip mall around here. If you have an existing condition and you worsen it at work, no worry is a workman's comp issue. How many weeks off getting therapy can we swing by insurance?

Docs, dentists, hospitals don't have to compete for our business. There aren't enough of them.

They have all got the State to make it illegal for any of their competitors to advertise price. If it was legal and the States made it illegal for their Guilds to stop them, medical prices would plummet.

My Hospital charges Medicare $787 for a heart scan. You will find "specials" on these all over the country from Scan centers for as low as $99.
